Two years without a single crash is pretty impressive for any computer network, let alone a blockchain. But a new report from one of the world's biggest financial firms says Solana still has some things worth keeping an eye on.
Fidelity, the giant investment company, released a report looking closely at the health of the Solana network. The good news is that Solana has had no reported mainnet outages in two years. That is a big deal, because Solana had a rough reputation for going down in earlier years. You can read more about Fidelity's research through their official site.
But Fidelity also flagged some concerns worth watching. They pointed to concentrations in three specific areas: stake (who controls the voting power on the network), hosting (too many validators running on the same cloud providers), and client software (most nodes using the same code). When too much of anything is concentrated in one place, a single problem can cause a bigger mess than it should.
If you hold SOL or use Solana-based apps, this report is basically a health checkup on the network your money sits on. A network that stays online is one you can actually use and trust. The two-year uptime record is genuinely encouraging, and it shows the team has fixed a lot of what went wrong before.
That said, the concentration issues are real risks. If most validators run on the same hosting company, and that company has a bad day, Solana could too. It does not mean disaster is coming, but it is a fair reason to stay informed rather than just assume everything is fine.
Keep an eye on whether the Solana community takes steps to spread out validator hosting and diversify its client software. If those concentrations get addressed, the network becomes more resilient. If they do not, they stay as weak points that future reports, or future problems, might highlight again.
Based on the Fidelity report, Solana has been stable for two years with no mainnet outages, which is a positive sign. The concerns raised are about long-term risks, not an immediate danger.
It means a small number of people or groups control a large share of the voting power on the network. That makes it easier for a few players to have outsized influence over decisions.
The report is more of a caution flag than an alarm, and analysts see both strengths and areas to improve. As always, do your own research before making any financial decisions.
